Step 1: Perform a visual inspection of the filter pad, pool shell, and pool structure.
Step 2: Confirm the pool is leaking using the Leakalyzer, a sophisticated water loss sensor. This is a crucial step to ensure that you do not pay for services that you do not need!!! Most pool companies do not utilize this equipment and will charge you the full leak detection fee regardless if you have a leak or not. If you have a leak and you choose to address the issue, the Leakalyzer will also ensure you do not have any other leaks upon completion.
Using the Leakalyzer, we will meticulously perform tests using a water loss computerized sensor that measures the water level changes to the 10,000th of an inch, enabling leaks to be identified in as little as 10-15 minutes per test.
Step 3: If the test confirms the leak, we will locate it using the latest technology in leak detection from Anderson Manufacturing and Leaktronics. We are also equipped with scuba equipment so we can conduct a thorough inspection of the pool shell and dye test areas of concern.
Above Ground Leak Detection starts at $375 (price includes electronic scan of liner, scuba diving, and repair services - see below) *Upon requests, electronic scan can be priced separately.
Above Ground Leak Detection is performed using the electronic devices listed below:
Leaktrac 2400
Leaktronics hydrophones
These devices provide pinpoint accuracy in identifying any holes or leaks in vinyl liners. This price includes the repair of up to 6 patches in the liner (depending on size) or minor epoxy putty repairs and a thorough inspection of the filter system, skimmer and return. These prices are subject to change and are based on pool size and location of service.
In order to use this equipment, the pool would need to be full, clear and clean to effectively provide this service.
*The above price is based on 14ft round above ground pool.
Inground leak detection starts at $425 (price includes electronic scan of liner and/or underwater microphones, scuba diving, and repair services- see below)
Inground Leak Detection is performed using multiple electronic devices from Anderson Manufacturing Company and Leaktronics. These devices enable us to efficiently and effectively identify leaks using non-invasive methods.
The price includes a full scan of liner/shell, inspect returns, skimmer baskets, main drains, light/s, and stairs. Additionally, the filter pad and pool structure will be inspected. It would include most vinyl repairs that can be accessed without construction. The repair of up to 6 patches in the liner is included in this price (depending on size). Non-invasive epoxy repairs may be additional.
***This price would not include pressure testing the plumbing or pinpointing underground plumbing leaks using ultrasonic equipment.***
*This price is based on a standard inground pool up to 14' x 32. If a leak is present, we will be able to identify if it’s in the shell or plumbing. If the leak is in the plumbing and you would like us to pressure test and/or pinpoint the leak, we can discuss the available options.
***All prices are subject to change and temperature/conditions/location can affect the price.
Please note the following:
- Pool must be clean and free of any major debris. Vacuum if necessary. Debris could interfere with the leak detection.
- The filter system must be shut down at least 3 hours prior to arrival.
- The pool must be filled to the normal operating water level.
- Auto vac, solar cover and any floating toys or inflatables must be removed
EVAPORATION & POST DETECTION WATER LOSS:
Normal pool evaporation is between 1/8” and 1/4” per day depending on the weather. Additionally, there may be Undetectable Leakage of 1/8” or less after testing. If Leak Busters is requested to re- test a pool and the water loss is determined NOT to be more than 1/8” more than evaporation, additional service charges may be incurred.
All detections are guaranteed 7 days from the detection date. It is important that you monitor for signs of leakage after detection and/or repairs are made, and notify Leak Busters within the 7-day period. If leakage occurs WITHIN 7 days after the repair is completed, we will re-test the system at no additional charge provided a leak exists. If a re-test is requested AFTER 7 days and the cause of the leak is not covered by the Leak Busters warranty, additional service charges will be incurred.
Liners with MORE than 12 holes are considered rotten, insect infested, or severely damaged and may not be guaranteed.
All minor repairs made by Leak Busters are guaranteed for 60 days.
